The short answer is yes, you do need a trial. It is so important to have a trial to ensure the smooth running on the Wedding morning and to make sure you are as prepared as you can be for your big day. You would be so surprised how quickly a wedding morning goes, by having a makeup trial you and your artist know exactly what your makeup will look like, leaving you more time to relax and enjoy the morning.
Think of it this way, would you buy your wedding dress without trying it on? Do you try the food for your wedding breakfast? It's the same for your makeup.
The idea of a trial is so that you and your artist are on the same page with what you want from your wedding makeup. This is your time to get to know each other and have your say on exactly what you do and do not like about makeup, your facial features and what you want for the day. From there you get the opportunity to try makeup looks.
A bridal makeup trial also gives the opportunity to test the best products for you and to ensure there are no skin reactions or sensitivities to them. Although you will have a full consultation before your trial, it is possible that you may be allergic to an ingredient in a cosmetic product you will not have used before. Your wedding day is definitely not the day you want to discover you are allergic to eyelash glue for example. A trial run gives you the opportunity to test out not only the final look, but also the products used.
Your trial is already incorporated in the price of your wedding makeup for the bride. Other top tips for your trial
Wear the same colour as your wedding dress. This will give you a good idea what your makeup will look like on the day
Bring some inspiration photos, but bear in mind it will look different due to face shapes and they are often edited. Also bring some photos of how you normally do your makeup for a night out.
BE HONEST. You will not offend your makeup artist if you tell them you do not like something, it is our job to make sure you are happy and feel amazing.
